Cherry Mobile has changed a lot when it comes to build quality. When we first saw the Cherry Mobile Flare S4 and hold it for the first time, we never thought that Cherry Mobile can come up with a beautiful and sleek smartphone. They normally use cheap plastic for their smartphone so this is indeed a big step up. The phone is made with a metal frame and a plastic back. Peeling of that back will reveal the removable battery, dual SIM slots and microSD card slot.</div>

We never had issues with the 5-inch display. It is bright, vivid and has good viewing angles. We just noticed it has warmer color tone as compared with another smartphone we are reviewing, the MyPhone My35.</div>

The Mediatek chipset has been holding up pretty well at any tasks we throw at it. We never had issues with lags or app delays. With its generous 2GB of RAM, playing more intense games will be a smooth sailing one.</div>

LTE connectivity using both Globe and Smart SIMs are within normal range. Calls are clear on both lines as well. We just noticed some inconsistencies with the Smart’s LTE that we never encountered with other phones. So far Globe’s LTE has been very good using this phone.</div>

We really can’t deny that the phone has very impressive specs. But its octa core processor and LTE connectivity has taken a toll with its battery. The small-ish 2,200 mAh battery can’t last us a full day with LTE and WiFi and that’s just with normal usage. They key to stretch the battery is to turn off data when not using it.</div>

The Cherry Mobile Flare S4 is one of Cherry Mobile’s best smartphone in terms of build quality alone, Not to mention that it has a good camera, a lag free software, LTE connectivity, and good display. The downside here is the battery. But, hey, there’s always a power bank, right?</div>

Kata has stepped up its build quality for the Kata M2L. Just like the Kata i4 we reviewed earlier this year, the chassis is made with aluminum making it very solid when holding it. That metal sides is also curved so holding it for long periods of time won’t be a pain.  The back is removable revealing the dual SIM slots, removable 3,000 mAh battery and microSD card slot.</div>

Audio quality coming out from the bottom firing speakers are quite weak so we recommend you use any of your third party earphones. So far, audio quality using our earphones are far better than the external speakers. Finally, we simply love the white variant of the Kata M2L, it is just so elegant-looking.</div>

We have been ever since fans of MyPhone’s excellent build quality. All MyPhone products we’ve tested since 2013 are still alive and kicking and owners are still happy with it. It is truly build to last. The MyPhone My35 never disappoints and in fact, it impressed us more. It is extremely solid and well built. We just find it a little heavy but that’s because of its metal frame construction. The device looks like a sandwich of metal and glass at the front and back but it isn’t. The back is plastic that gives an illusion that you have a glass back. It is easy to remove and peel off too. This reveals the non removable battery, dual SIM card slots and microSD card expansion.</div>

We are very surprised with the battery. On our normal usage, we managed to get a day and half with 20% power left. On our heavy use, we managed to get 11 hours of battery. That includes hours of You Tube, IWant TV, playing Clash of Clans and social media. Great battery life!</div>
